conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) for admission to
MBBS and BDS courses for the academic session 2014 to fill 15% seats in
government colleges all over india.
In
2013 instead of AIPMT, which had been happening from the past 25 years, NEET was
conducted by C.B.S.E. under the control of MCI. As per the directions of
Supreme Court the NEET UG exam was
withheld. The ministry of HRD soon announced the admission to MBBS and BDS
courses in 2014 through AIPMT (All India Pre Medical/Dental Test) to be
conducted by CBSE. So in 2014 AIPMT will be held.
The syllabus and pattern for AIPMT 2014 is same as notified by the Medical Council of India for NEET UG in
2013.
AIPMT 2014 will be an offline pen and
paper test.
AIPMT
2014 Exam will be of 3 hours duration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The
exam will have 180 Multiple Choice Questions (45 questions from each section of
Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology). For each correct answer 4 marks will be
awarded and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
To
crack AIPMT with good score fundamental and conceptual knowledge of subject is
very important. The preparation for AIPMT is done over a period of 2 years as
the course of both the classes 11 and 12 is covered in the exam. Most of the
students start preparing from class 11 itself.
Students
should thoroughly go through NCERT textbooks and other preparatory guides as it
helps in building strong conceptual foundation of the subject.
Cover
all topics given in syllabus, avoid skipping any topic. Prepare beginning from
Class 11 syllabus before moving on to Class 12. Make sure you are clear on the
basic concepts.
In the
beginning you should make your preparation plan and make your own notes from
reliable sources it will be helped a lot to complete your syllabus during
revision period and to get good score easily. You can make your Study Plan on a
weekly basis; you should assigned some chapters of each subject to study each
week so that you are able to end your syllabus in time.
While
studying theory it is important to practice a lot of problems especially in
Physics and Chemistry. The question paper contains more than 70% problems
(numerical) in case of Physics and more than 50% problems (numerical) in case
of Chemistry.
Time planning
is very-very important. You must improve your strike rate (questions attempted
correctly) through daily practice. In this exam speed is a vital subject.
Once you
complete your whole syllabus practising
mock test is very important, they will definitely help you in time management
and your confidence will surely improve by giving mock test. Mock tests will
help you in improving your Speed and Strike rate.

(friends who are also preparing for these exams) as it engage you in discussion
with your friends and fellow students which helps in exchange of ideas and
thoughts thereby upgrading knowledge about the concept/topic under discussion.
In physics mechanics,
electrodynamics and modern physics are topics from which questions are more
frequently asked in comparison to SHM & waves, heat & thermodynamics
etc.
In chemistry from physical,
organic and inorganic generally almost equal number of questions are asked.
In biology the living world,
structural organs in plant and animal, plant physiology, animal physiology and
reproduction , ecology, biotechnology are topics from which questions are more frequently
asked in comparison to reproduction in plants, genetics and evolution, biology
